Luis Sangachi found his passion for surfing in Montañita at just 12 years old. What started as play soon took him to international competitions.Now, he continues to live through surfing in Montañita, exploring the world in search of new waves.
Lucho, as he is known by those close to him, was born in Quito and arrived at the Ecuadorian coast at the age of 12, together with his twin brother Jorge and some friends. Discovering the ocean was a dazzling spectacle, and his passion for the waves soon followed.
With all the curiosity and boldness of youth, he began playing with pieces of foam along the shores of Santa Elena province. Inevitably, upon reaching Montañita, the possibility of entering the sea on a surfboard became a reality.
It didn’t take long before, inspired by the vibrant surf atmosphere of the area, Luis began competing in local and even international events, proudly representing his country.
Cuando cumplió la mayoría de edad comenzó una viaje por Latinoamérica experimentando los lugares donde se hayan las olas mas emblemáticas de Perú, Chile, Uruguay y Brasil y fue en estos viajes donde se inicio como instructor de surf.
En los siguientes viajes se dedicó a hacer temporadas de olas grandes en la costa pacifica de México, específicamente en Puerto Escondido donde las olas rompen con fuerza y tamaño. Allí corrió los tubos mas espectaculares de su vida a la vez que recibió su formación pedagógica más consistente para dar clases de surf.
Otras Olas como las del Noth Shore de Oahu, Hawaii, y los espectaculares picos de las isla de San Cristobal, en Galapagos Ecuador, han sido escuela para Luis.

Lucía Bruna, an Argentine who chose Ecuador as her current home, is the other creator of this story. At the age of 27, she moved to this country, drawn by the waves. There, in Montañita as well, she began learning this sport.
Today, a decade later, we are a family formed by a team of surf professionals who, beyond their excellent skills as instructors, stand out for their human quality.
